It’s all smiles at a hospital in Arizona ? because 16 of the nurses are pregnant. They are all expecting babies between October and January.

The expectant mothers are all intensive care nurses at Banner Desert Medical Center, in the suburb of Mesa outside Phoenix.

They joked to reporters on Aug. 17 that they thought there was something in the water that helped them get pregnant.

Rochelle Sherman, nearly eight months along, said: “I don’t think we realized just how many of us were pregnant until we started a Facebook group.”

Another nurse, Jolene Garrow, joked that they planned the pregnancies to have time off work.

The nurses get 12 weeks of maternity leave. But first they have a big baby shower to attend, planned by the hospital.

Hospital officials said there are enough nurses at the hospital to fill in. (AP)
