At least 1,170 planning to run in House of Representatives election
衆議院選挙、1,170人超が出馬予定
At least 1,170 people are currently planning to run in the Oct. 27 election for the House of Representatives, exceeding the 1,051 candidates in the previous Lower House election in 2021, a Jiji survey showed Oct. 9.
The number may rise further, as political parties are still continuing the process of selecting candidates to run for the 465 seats up for grabs in the snap election.
